Some email comments from our writers and others about our first issue:

“Many, many thanks for sending this inaugural issue. There is so much
thoughtful work! I haven't finished flipping through the issue yet, but so
far, I truly like what I see.
Please give my thanks to Michelle and all the staff. Thank you so much for
being good enough to include my own work.”

The ezine looks great. Thank you for including my story in the first edition.”

Sage of Consciousness is a great magazine…All I can say at this point is Bravo and Lots of Good Fortune!” Second comment from the same writer: “Wonderful, Wonderful Wonderful! Sage has a terrific appearance and is easy to navigate. I really do like it.”

Whoo hoo... We did it!

Hello everyone,

We got the first issue up and running beautifully, and we added a new staff member, while sadly losing another. John went to England and we do not know when he will be back. Laura Ferguson from New York has taken his place. She's a great addition with a keen sense for artistry and design.
We've gotten nothing but great compliments for our first issue, and the staff and I are on cloud nine. What a great start. We also have aquired an ISSN number from the Library of Congress; we are working dilligently to get the rest of our ducks in a row.

We would love to go to print sometime soon, working toward that goal with every step of progress that we make.

We do hope you all keep submitting, and we have already gotten some very nice work for the love issue that will be posted in August of this year.

Please post comments and or suggestions on our forum. We would love to hear from our readers. Or you can drop us a line at sageofcon@gmail.com and let us know what you think!

Happy creating!

New stuff added!

Hi,

We've added a forum portal which has the potential to be so much more.
It has a journal feature, download feature, forum feature, and several other things that we haven't figured out yet, but we will eventually.

Check it out here:
http://sageofcon.com/index.php

Right now, anyone one can sign up and join, and it will stay that way as long as possible.
Also, visitors should be able to post news and other things to promote their writing and art.
It is in the experimental stage and does not have a lot of content right now, but as we expand and get more visitors (as we learn how to augment the site...), we hope to expand the portal to include as many features as we can offer to you, our visitors, artists, and writers.

Thanks to everyone who has visited, clicked on a revenue banner, submitted work, and paticipated in any of our features.

Happy creating!

Rough Couple of days

Hi all,

My previous web hosting account decided that they wanted to update their servers, only they crashed which led to Sage of Consciousness being down for the last two days. I have moved to a new server and things are going well...so far (fingers definitely crossed!)

We do apologize for the inconvenience, but this hosting is working out so much better that maybe it was a blessing in disguise!

Happy writing!

Just some thoughts and insight on why we started this venture

Hello everyone,
I'm not a great critic, nor am I anything above a simple mere mortal in the writing world. A mortal who ventured forth to create something that reaches inside of people and touches their very beings--makes them shiver, feel, happy, sad, afraid, empathetic, or just plain brings a smile to their faces.
I have read the greats and not so greats; sometimes I have even wondered if I haven't walked passed a future one in the halls at college, on the streets, seen one online, or read one in this very first set of magazine submissions.

It doesn't matter that we receive recognition--not to me--but that someone has read what we have presented here and has been moved somehow--just a bit.

That is what writing and creating means to me. That is one of the reasons a few friends and I have started this little e-zine called Sage of Consciousness. To give readers the chance to have their souls carressed and hearts moved by the words of amazing and talented writers. Nothing can compare to the goosebumps from a great story. Not to me. Not to most of our staff here.

Happy Writing

Vacation

Paul and I went on a small vacation this weekend. It was a beautiful and amazing place where electronic gadgets do not always work. Only certain cell phone carriers can get through. Needless to say, ours do not work in this peaceful place. I did sneak in a few 10 cents a minute hook-ups to the internet to check my email, being addicted to the internet…

This place is anyone’s haven. I spent the mornings waiting for the sun to rise over sugar and milk overdosed coffee, and awaited the sunsets while slurping down the best raw oysters in the world. What a wonderful place to spend the weekend. Cedar Key is truly a Florida gem.

Don’t worry, those who sent in submissions, we got them. And spending a weekend away with the love of my life didn’t stop me from working on Sage at all. I finished the cover design and began working on the featured writer’s, Rob Rosen, page.

Keep sending in submissions.

Another New Staffer

We have added Marie Poulos to the staff as a copy desk editor.

I’ve worked with her before on a college literary magazine last year. Great talent for finding gifted writing and art. She’ll be on board starting with the first issue, helping with final editing as well as her valued opinions on other things.

Welcome Marie!
